Ganesh S. Sorabad, born in 1992, Hubli, Karnataka, India. Holds M.Sc. degree in Chemistry from the University of Mangalore, Mangalgangothri in 2015. In 2016 he started his Ph.D. studies in the same institution under the supervision of Prof. Mahagundappa R. Maddani. His research is primarily focused on synthetic methodologies of construction various Carbon hetero-bonds such as C-X, C-S and C-Se bonds on electron rich system via oxidative C-H functionalization strategy and he obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2020. In addition, he actively worked as postdoc in various Indian institutes such as IIT-Gandhinagar with Prof. Chandrakumar Appayee and IIT-Bombay with Prof. Santosh J. Gharpure on Asymmetric catalysis and Vinylogous carbonates respectively. With a line research further he moved to Tunghai University, Taiwan within a Prof. Ding Yah-Yang research group and investigated some new hetero-cyclic compounds with cycloaddition path way.
He is currently a MSCA-Postdoctoral Research Associate under the supervision of Prof. Nicola Della Ca’ with his research focusing on the direct synthesis of multi-functionalized iodoarenes as accessible sophisticated building blocks for sustainable catalytic sequences (action 101151638 — Cat4Arene).
